Medium power extension
The finalization of the low power (5 Watt) specification gives us room to start work on extending the Qi standard to medium power. The medium power specification will cover power transfer up to 120 Watt.
the work on medium power we will increase the maximum number of regular members to 18 (the maximum is currently 10). We invite parties interested in regular membership to contact us.
The Steering Group will decide the approval (or rejection) of applications regular membership with the purpose to create regular membership consisting of companies with the following profile.

In case two applicants regular membership match the profile, but only one seat is available, the Steering Group will select the most appropriate company on the basis of their score on a balanced score card with the following criteria:
- turnover
- brand recognition / brand ranking
- strength of patent portfolio in the domain of wireless power technology
- commitment to actively contribute technical, commercial and management resources
Applications regular membership can be made now and will be decided in the first steering committee meeting following the finalization of the low power specification.
